Annual 21-Day Prayer & Fasting Festival
Rev. Helen bringing a word during Prayerfest 2006.
This year will be like no other in the almost ten years of our ministry. PrayerFest has become for us a festival of prayer and fasting dedicated to setting apart the early part of the each new year. Many gigantic challenges confronted us from the previous year threatening the very survival of the ministry, but the force and the grace of prayer brought us through.
We receive many almost incredible testimonies during this season that our faith levels has been bolstered by the sheer power and conviction of answered prayer.
For a theme we choose the text from Exodus 33:12-18 and Ezekiel 47:1-12. In the first text Moses pleads with the Lord to go before them into the promised and he requested for His glory (verse 18) which God graciously granted. In Ezekiel, we see healing waters flowing from of the altar in the temple and going outside to bring healing whereever it went.
In the following 21-days we fasted and prayed each evening and participation during this season was
excellent (on average 95%). In each meeting we had ordinary members bring the word and also lead the
prayer time. Then one of the pastors would wrap up the evening, serve Holy Communion and give the
benediction. Several times we had other friends join the prayer times. In the course of these sessions, we
prepared and prayed out aloud scriptures we composed into what we call "declarative prayers". These
were statements of faith, power, authority, blessing and healing from the Bible, and the effects were awesome.

Bishop Keith & Rev. Diane Hunter on a short holiday to Amsterdam also joined PrayerFest.
He ministered in songs beautifully on that accordion.

PrayerFest did not just end after 21-days, but has in fact extended since then. Why because we have found
needs to pray about. Thankfully, the miracles have continued till today. If you wish to participate simply email:

This page contains a report on a missions trip to the town Tanuku in the state of Andrah Pradesh of India.
In the year 2003 we received an invitation to visit Tanuku in Andhra Pradesh, southern India, to bring the Word of God, the healing power of Jesus Christ and material relief supplies to poor children in orphanages, hospital and those in prison. We recognise that a mission such as this will be a direct service to suffering humanity and an honour to our Lord Jesus Christ when He said:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. And the King [Jesus] shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
The town of Tanuku in the state of Andhra Pradesh, southern India. Tanuku is a rural community of about 67,000 friendly but needy people. We will be guests to Spirit & Life Ministries led by Bishop John Mallipudi working hard to improve the lives of the people. By our missionary visit we hope to brighten up a little, their daily lives with through preaching the Gospel, healing the sick and sharing a few gifts and supplies to orphans and the poor. Would send us with your gift (Romans 10:15)?

Plans for a missionary trip to India began in 2003 when we first Bishop John
Mallipudi in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A casual friendship was struck between us which
led to this trip. Originally planned in 2004,
our first visit to
Tanuku,a small
town of about 90,000 residents in the Andhra Pradesh state of India fell through
due to visa difficulties.
We, however, managed
to expressed our love and friendship in some practical ways
The trip to Tanuku consisted of a 9-hour flight into
Hyderabad and another 9-hour onward journey by road.
As you can imagine we
arrived totally worn out and eagerly looked forward to a shower and some rest.
In the photo above Bishop John (left) is seen talking with
lady pastor Jemima who single-handedly with her
few members are building the
structure in the background which will house a children’s home and church
premises. Facing the camera is bishop’s wife Kamala.
(Above, left) Rev. Larry with one of the youngest orphans
(who had just lost parents through suicide).
One place we had a rousing welcome was among the orphans –
kids with no father or mother and in the
most difficult circumstances and yet
filled with joy and glowing smiles! The photo below shows their home.
Inside the dormitories of the
orphans we saw some basic needs of the kids. The bunk-beds needed
mattresses, bed- and pillow sheets, and some ceiling fans for the intense heat in those
rooms.
The boys and girls need clothes and some toys to enjoy their childhood.
Our trip to the villages took us to these areas: Mukiralapadu, Wveluvennu, Chiwada,
Mukkamala.
We also visited churches in the tribal areas, which is a bush and
mountainous region which are sometimes
infiltrated by terrorist elements. We
also were in Valangil, Srungagawaram, Achambeda, Siddiiwaribalam
and Ramannajepalem.
At each location we spent time to encourage with a few words and we prayed for
the needs of the people. It was such a moving sight to see their hunger and
faith for prayer.
Church meetings were being held in little houses, almost all the congregants
sat on the floor. Their children
were easily drawn by the churches, also the
elderly. They readily lifted up their hands to God in worship with
no compulsion whatsoever.
We saw also how polluted much of their drinking water has become mainly from
unhygienic environmental causes. With the same water they bathed buffalos, washed clothes
and also drank.
(Above) shows the type of flooding which pollutes their waters in the
rainy season, (right) home of one pastor
destroyed by Tsunami last year.
We stood there to pray, believing God for divine help and favour for rebuilding.
Inside one of the village churches in the tribal area, (right) a smiley welcome
for Rev. Helen from pastor Jemima.
As we drove from place to place we could not help noticing some of the usual landmarks of India; the statue of the gods proudly standing along the roadside, and the popular yellow autos.
During this visit we were honoured to be one of the speakers on their annual
convention. Rev. Larry spoke on the opening
and closing nights of the 4-day
programme. He also spoke during the pastors workshop. Revs. Larry & Helen (left)

well-attended with crowds ranging between
3,000-5000 each night!
Participants in one of the evening convention meetings.
The meetings never closed without prayer ministration to all of the crowd each
night. We had to lay hands on every
person and it was a moving sight to watch
young and old scrambling for a touch from the Lord.
There were about 300 pastors from different parts of the country in the 2-day Pastors’ Workshop. Most were local ministers, and among them were two from friendly ones Bangalore. Our presence appeared to have added an international flavour to the meetings.
Above are young minister friends from Hyderabad. They took the trouble to travel
9 hours long to Tanuku only to come meet us for fellowship. For the first time
we met them, though we have maintained email contact for nearly 2 years now.
They were desperate
to have us come along with them back to Hyderabad, so we
managed to arrange that visit on our departure from Tanuku on March 29.
On arriving in Hyderabad we were taken by our friends to a gathering of eager
believers waiting to see us
and also to be ministered to. After a short worship
we were given the chance to speak to the gathered believers.
We spoke in English
and the translation came across in Telugu (the local dialect).
We began to minister to the people and after we finished we left to board our flight back to Amsterdam. A few days after our arrival in Amsterdam the first miracle report came in. This man (upper photo) paralysed half-way down on his left was healed. We saw him with his stick walking earlier on, but after prayer his hand received strength. The report said that his healing was complete as he now walks without the stick. There were other testimonies came in from that brief encounter which space and time would not permit us to mention
The trip to India has really stirred up great compassion in us. We have since been sharing this heart-moving story at any given opportunity. It is not just about the poverty, or the orphans or the struggles of the people. It is about making a difference where it matters and at a given opportunity. We see this as having both an eternal and a historical significance for the people of Tanuku. The gospel will go down better with a dose of kindness than without it.
To make a tangible impact we have designed three main projects for Tanuku for which we need sponsors. No donation is too small or too big. All donations will be acknowledged in writing. Below are highlights of the projects:

2005 Summer Gospel Campaign
Revs. Greg and Helen Wilk are senior pastors of the Abundant Life Church of God on Long Island in New York.
Rev. Greg and his wife have been on the frontlines of ministry for over 20 years being used of God in preaching, teaching and deliverance. They have a vibrant and fruitful outreach to the Holbrook community, serving the spiritual and social needs of residents. Greg and Helen also host periodically pastoral gatherings to aiming to help forge unity among local ministers.
Our first meeting with the Wilks was probably a divine appointment and we have been relying on God to bring out of it whatsoever we wishes to the furtherance of the gospel. In the month of July they accepted our invitation to visit and to minister in Powerline International and the experience and fellowship has proven to be very warm, friendly and edifying.
The meetings, dubbed Summer Gospel Campaign and under the theme Now is Your Time was planned as an outreach to both the churched and unchurched in our city. Throughout there was very powerful preaching by Rev. Greg and razor-sharp prophetic ministry by Rev. Helen. The 3-day meeting drew attendance and support from some city ministers and other members of the church community who came from The Hague and Amsterdam.
Apart from ministry we also shared some private moments with the Wilks and gleaned insights from their struggles and triumphs, and it was very comforting once more to learn that difficult moments were only transient in life and in ministry.
Spectacular Healing During an Evangelistic Outreach.
In 2005 our ministry undertook an evangelistic activity in small but important town by name Wijk bij Duurstede. It is near Utrecht one of the major ciies in the Netherlands. It was two-day event (on a Friday and Saturday) which was characterized by a notable healing miracle - the miraculous raising of the man (above) out of his wheelchair! The rest of the story unfolds below (with some pictures). Enjoy!
At this juncture this man in the wheelchair had received prayer from our prayer team, who had moved on to minister to others. During his prayer time, however, this man reported sensing surges of power through his feet and the rest of his body. He temporarily rolled his wheelchair out of the building while others were being ministered to. Later on we began to check out the healings which had taken place in the building, then from behind in walked in a man pushing an empty wheelchair all by himself. There was the man in that wheelchair and then everyone went wild with excitement!
The amazement on our faces could not be hidden. We shouted and jumped! But some of us wanted to check the healing to see if it was for real! So Rev. Larry tried to ask some questions about the man's background and it turned out that he is well-known in his community to be have been sick and in wheelchair for a long time. The joy in his own heart could not be hidden either.
(Above) On Saturday night the healed man turned up for the closing service without his wheelchair! And the incident stirred up some more people to join the service that night and Holy Spirit moved particularly in area of cleansing and healing of relationship that night. Several families were made whole and others we restored to Christ.
Ladies-Only Night with Greta Baker
It would seem that the Ladies Night organised by the Women's Fellowship of the Rivers of Life Ministries in Amsterdam may fast be turning into annual event. The most recent programme of last April was a resounding success through the ingenious and talented organisational skills of Rev. Helen Dorkenoo, who coordinated the events which climaxed into a refreshing evening the ladies had that evening.

Roses are forever!
Some where last year after listening to my husband preach a message entitled "Making the word of God attractive" from Titus chapter 2:10, I felt very challenged and stirred up within my soul to make a difference that I took the matter into prayer. I was so stirred up because I realised that often times we (Christians) tend to hang onto particular ways of doing things for a very long time, even when it has lost its edge. So I desperately searched for a new way to enhance our gospel outreach efforts.
By the time I got off my knees the Lord had clearly spoken to my heart about what to do.
So immediately I set out to work on the idea I had received. I approached some local
florists about sponsoring us with free roses. Almost everyone of them declined except
for one who agreed to supply a bunch of roses every week. Each time when the roses
come in we clean
them up, attach to each one a tag bearing a short text like "Jesus Cares about U, so do We" or
even at times use a short but clear scriptural text. Next we move to different hospitals, nursing
homes here in Amsterdam to express God's care and our compassion in simple but direct way
with the roses.
Since we begun this Rose Ministry in 2008, it has greatly impacted our lives. Our compassion
for people has not only grown, we have come to appreciate better this life as a gift from God.
Whenever we returned from our visitations we would feel completely sobered but grateful to
God because of what we have seen and felt in those hospitals and nursing homes.
Each time we gave out a message-tagged rose it brought some people to tears; especially the
lonely, the very sick and those did not expect their lives to take the turn it has. It gave some,
however, comfort in their respective situations.
This way, we have truly found a means to beautify the gospel of our Lord Jesus, thereby making it
more attractive to those we meet. I truly thank the Holy Spirit for the inspiration.
Also, I wish to thank our florist sponsor for the weekly supplies, and my girls for making time out
of their busy schedules go visiting with me.
Enjoy some of our special visitation photos below.
